Questions About Drew Brees Record Pace

Mark asks…

Will Drews Brees or Kurt Warner beat Marino's single season passing record of 5084 yards?

They are both on pace to come pretty close, if they stay at the pace they are on they will be about 100-200 yards out, which means that one above average game could give them the push to beat Marino's 24 year old record. The closest anyone has ever come is Warner himself in 2001 with 4830 yards.

admin answers:

I think brees can, warner will have his team in the playoffs in about a week so the cards might give some rest to the starters in the late weeks so warner wont be around by then. I think brees will break the record, if bush and colston remain healthy he will, the defense is really bad so they have to pass the ball almost all game long because they always fall behind really early.and you are right they dont have a running game so i think he might be just around that mark.

Sharon asks…

Is this the year Dan Marino's record of 5084 yards is broken?

These are their current paces

Tom Brady, 5997
Drew Brees, 5661
Aaron Rodgers, 5507
Brady had a fast start with almost 1000 yards in two games but in the last two games he didn't attempt as many passes, Brees has been more consistent with and at least 44 attempts and 350 yards in all but one game.

admin answers:

I HATE TO SAY IT... But yeah. Brady will break it. It's been 27 years. That's crazy.

Donna asks…

who do you think is the best NFL player to come out of free agency.?

I think it owuld be Drew Brees. He is on pace to break Dan Marino's passing yardage record and a possible MVP of the 08 season

admin answers:

Drew Brees, Matt Casell too.

David asks…

NFL MVP???????????

If the season was to end today who do you think would win MVP.
Im gonna with with Adrian Peterson, I mean the guys always has to deal with 8 men in the box and he still runs all over everybody, he leads the league rushing yards, what more can i say. Without AP the vikings would not be tied for the divison or even close to a playoff chance.

A lot of people will say Drew Brees and I disagree, yea he throws for a lot of yards and was on pace to break Dans passing record, but honeslty look at the Saints record is it helping them at all? And he has a good game one week than the next week he throws two interception so I dont think he desreves the title
LOL did you just say tyler thigpen hahahahahahahaha

thanks i needed a good laugh
how can you say portis, they still have campbell, cooley, moss.

Portis wouldnt last a game if he had to play agianst the type of defenses peterson sees. 8 men in the box on every play trying to stop him and he always ends up with 100 yards atleast

Sandra asks…

What QB did the most with the fewest?

Drew Brees in his first year with New Orleans(2006): 4,418yds, 26td's, 11int's, 96.2qbr
Aaron Brooks from the previous season: 2,882yds, 13td's, 17int's, 70.0qbr

The Saints won a total of 3 games in 05, Brees lead them to a 10-6 record and an NFC title game, with essentially the same team + surprise rookies Jahri Evans and Marquis Colston(7th rounder).

Donovan McNabb in 2006 lead the entire league in most pass statistics, amounting an impressive 2,647yds, 18td's, 6int's, 95.5 through 10 games, on pace for a 4,200+yds/29td's season. This while newly acquired Donte Stallworth missed 3 games early on, thus relying on Reggie Brown(nuff said)..

Tom Brady in 2006(was this the year of the overachiever?), 3,529tds, 24td's, 12int's, 87.9qbr - Pats traded late draft pick to Oakland for Doug Gabriel, who was ineffective through five starts and eventually succeeded by Reche Caldwell in week 4. His other target Ben Watson only had 643yds. Team would've won the AFC Championship game if it weren't for some blatantly blown calls.

Phillip Rivers from last season: 4,710yds, 30td's, 13int's, 101.8qbr.. Began the year without Vincent Jackson who held out till week 11, lost Malcom Floyd, and lost his best receiver Antonio Gates halfway through the year. He at one point had a receiving core consisting of this 'tandem': Seyi Ajirotutu/Legedu Naanee - CASE AND POINT!
Elway had the "three amigos" before Sharpe, Rod Smith, and TD. Good mention, he took some measly teams into deep playoff runs.

admin answers:

Drew Brees is the best Free Agent signing ever and he turned around a perennially losing franchise, but remember 2005 was the year after Katrina and they played the entire season on the road. Otherwise this could have been a 7-9 or 8-8 team.

I have to say Marino had the worst supporting cast of any Hall of Famer, his best receivers were Duper and Clayton, and he had no running game.

John Elway at the beginning of his career took three average teams to the Super Bowl.

Questions About Drew Brees Stats

Mark asks…

What do you think Drew Brees stats will be this week?

I have giants D and Drew Brees on my fantasy team so i was wondering if i should start them both. So what do you guys think Drew will do with their RBs hurt and Giants D both play in factors..

admin answers:

In the end its going to be the QB of both teams who will have to win it for their teams.

I see Brees doing something like 250 yards with 2 tds 1 int.

But don't start the Giants D as Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell might put some work in.

Thomas asks…

why do the saints care so much about padding drew brees' stats?

losers

admin answers:

It's not that they want to pad Drew's stats but rather they rely too much on the passing game which has become along with their lack of a good run defense their downfall. Our passing game has won us many games and helped us make comebacks. The playcallers/playmakers seem a little unsure about using our run game more effectively.

Michael asks…

Who will have better stats this year - Drew Brees or Tom Brady?

admin answers:

Drew Brees.

Charles asks…

How is Peyton Manning a 99 in madden 10 when Drew Brees is a 96?

Compare the stats, Brees destroyed Manning in stats.I guess 5069 isn't as good as 4002. And 34 td isn't as good as 27. Who Deserves the better Madden rating.
5069 yards isnt as good as 4002 yards

admin answers:

Manning is overated

Maria asks…

Drew Brees Vs. Aaron Rodgers in skills and stats...who is top?

Fans,

Both Brees and Rodgers are great quarterbacks. We all know that presently Aaron is enjoying the peak of his career (or not) as he continues to shine.

Here are the facts between Drew and Aaron:
Brees has a Super Bowl ring from SB 44; Rodgers has one from SB 45.
Brees is 32 while Rodgers is 27.
• Aaron was SB 45's MVP
Drew was SB 44's MVP
Drew has been awarded the Pro Bowl 5 times; Rodgers selected 1 time.

Okay fans, let's get down to stats:

Q 1. Who has the better deep throw - Drew or Aaron?

Q 2. Who has the better vision afield - Drew or Aaron?

Q 3. Who is better out of the pocket - Drew or Aaron?

Q 4. Who has LEFT his peak and who is entering his peak - Drew or Aaron?

Q 5. Who has the most TDs in his career - Brees or Rodgers?

Q 6. Who has the highest QB Rating - Brees or Rodgers?

Q 7. Who has the highest passing yards - Brees or Rodgers?

Q 8. Who has been sacked the most?

The NFL did a stat on the FASTEST throw, with Aaron clocked in about 0.27 for 1st place, Brady at about 0.30 for 2nd and Peyton at around 0.33 from PLANTED FOOT - TO - THROW RELEASE! ...FAST!!! >>>

Q 9. How fast is Drew's throw?

Q 10. Quirky Q ~ IF Drew was behind Green Bay's O-Line, would he be just as good or better than Aaron Rodgers? (in all fairness to Drew Brees we all know that New Orleans' O-Line is swiss cheese at the moment).

Side-note: Brees entered the league in 2001 while Rodgers in 2005 so naturally some stats will be at an imbalance.

admin answers:

1. Brees
2. Brees
3. Rodgers
4. Left- Brees, Enter-Rodgers
5. Brees
6. Rodgers
7. Brees
8. Brees in his career
9. Not sure.
10. Yes, if he had Rodger's weapons
