Should the Kings move to Seattle?

When I was seven (still a Warrior fan back then) I had to move from the bay, to this horrible city called sacramento. Why I had to move is because of a private school here (which sucks to me). I'm 13 right now and I want to move back to the bay. But staying on topic, do you think sacramento should move to Seattle? They need some fresh new start. The team and the city, fails. I think they should. Thoughts?

I don't think that's going to happen but as a Seattle resident that would be great. And I seriously doubt any profesional team moving to Las Vegas, including the Kings. There's to much gambling there, I don't think the league would risk putting a team there.

What do you think about NBA contraction?

Would it be good for the NBA? If so, which teams do you contract? If you look at the NBA in the 1980-81 season there were 23 teams and six teams (unlike eight currently) per conference made the playoffs. Has the league become watered down due to expansion?

Lets take it team by team. Which teams were around in the early 80's when the NBA was filled with super stars top to bottom according to Lebron James.

Looking at the teams in the league then, the only teams that moved were the Kings, Clippers, and recently the Seattle Super Sonics. Otherwise, the teams that have been in the NBA for 30 years or more should not be folded. Lets look at the teams that have been added to the league since then.
1988- Miami Heat
1988- Charlotte Hornets (Moved to New Orleans)
1989- Orlando Magic
1989- Minnesota Timberwolves
1995- Vancouver Grizzlies (Moved to Memphis)
1995- Toronto Raptors
2004- Charlotte Bobcats

The teams that have been successful have been the Heat, Magic, and to an extent, the Charlotte Hornets of the 90's. Otherwise it's a toss up between the Grizzles and the Bobcats, might throw in the Timberwolves as Minneapolis is more of a Football and Baseball town.

One team that people have been throwing out there for contraction is the Bucks. Like I said, they were a winning franchise in the 70's and 80's, going to two NBA Finals and winning one with a host of hall of famers throughout this period. Not to mention their little run of success with Ray Allen.

In conclusion I don't want any teams to fold or be contracted, I'm just speculating in theory. I'm sure David Stern will find a way to keep the teams where they're at. What do you think?

There's no need for the NBA to contract. There are plenty of cities... Las Vegas and Seattle among others... That would be happy to take on one of those "unsuccessful" NBA teams. Contraction is a scare tactic that the NBA is using in anticipation of the upcoming labor negotiations.

I think it will be either New Orleans or Atlanta. New Orleans has a weird owner situation right now and they could be relocated. Atlanta is currently for sale and there is supposedly a buyer already but they are keeping it quiet until the playoffs are over. Due to their weak fanbase, I could see them moving to a new city depending on who buys the team.
