Questions About Kings Schedule Nba

Thomas asks…

What is the formula for making an NBA team's schedule?

I think there are 88 games, We'll use the PHX Suns for example...

I beleive they play 2 home & 2 away vs each division foe (16 games)
(Lakers Warriors, Kings,and Clippers)

Then they play 1 home & away vs the rest of the west (20 games)

then does everyone else cycle thru depending on the year, like NFL teams do? Od will they play everyone at least one home & one way?

Thanks in advance

admin answers:

No idea but they play 82 games

Robert asks…

How is NBA league scheduling decided; by whom and by what system?

30 teams play 82 games a year. What kind of system used to decide who plays who, and when? Note: Obviously there are games which are preplanned such as Christmas Day, Opening Day and even last home game of the year, such as Lakers at Kings every year since 2003, or so.

Charles asks…

Who will finish with the NBA's best record? Cavaliers? Lakers?

Cavs and Lakers Schedules (Remaining as of 3/25/09)
Cavs on left/Lakers on right
Cavs (57-13) Lakers (56-14) Currently

H Nets/A Pistons
H Timberwolves/A Nets
H Mavs/A Hawks
H Pistons/A Bobcats
A Wizards/A Bucks
A Magic/H Rockets
H Spurs/H Clippers
H Wizards/A Kings
A 76ers/H Nuggets
H Celtics/A Trailblazers
A Pacers/H Grizzlies
H 76ers/H Jazz

I see the Cavs finishing 68-14 losing @ Orlando
I see the Lakers finishing 66-16 losing Home to Jazz, and Home to Rockets

So overall I think Cleveland gets the NBA's best record
elaborate on your answer if you like, say who you think is going to beat either team, and why

admin answers:

It will be interesting to see.

The only way I see either team getting a 66 or better record is if the other teams loses a few games and it won't be any doubts who will have the best record. Ex, if toward the end of the season and the Lakers can't catch Cleveland and they have better record than anyone else then I can see them resting their starters for the playoffs, The same can be said of the Cavs, If they have the East best record locked and lets say they loss a few games and can't catch the Lakers then I can see them resting their starters or basically coasting to the end of the season.

The Lakers road trips this time around is mostly against poor teams so they should do pretty well whereas the Cavs have a pretty good home schedule and they have a great record at home so I view this as being even.

I think it will come down to complacency. I can't but help to think that these two teams feel that they can turn it on at any times and one or both of these teams will face a team fighting for playoffs or fighting to salvage their season by beating the best team in the league and they will come up short. I looked at the Laker game at Chicago last week and if it was not for the bench it might have been a loss for the Lakers but then again they were playing a team fighting to stay in the playoff hunt.

So it might just come down to which team is more complacent their last games of the season.

Sandra asks…

The two toughest NBA Playoff games ever played ...?

... were played April 5th, 1968.
What made these two games so difficult was what had happened the previous evening :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Martin_Luther_King,_Jr.

The games had previously been scheduled, and all players, black and white, were asked to play in spite of what had happened. The players reluctantly agreed, as long as the rest of each series were postponed. The owners and Commissioner agreed.

Do you think any other NBA playoff games were tougher to play in than these two ?
I don't.

Appreciate your point, Nick C. Wasn't a competition comparison.
Was just posting on some NBA history in that players actually played two games right after that horrific event. It's an important fact many today have forgotten.
So, not tasteless, but educational to today's youth. Thanks.

admin answers:
