Questions About Nfl Atlanta Falcons Record

Maria asks…

NFL: Atlanta Falcons and NY Giants?

I was wondering why the Falcons can't mathematically make the post season whereas the Giants can, even though they both have 8-7 records. Can someone explain why this is?

admin answers:

The falcons can indeed make the playoffs if they beat the bucs next week, they have the final spot. If they lose and the Giants win, then they are out.

Steven asks…

What is your guess your favorite NFL teams record will be?

I think that the Atlanta Falcons will become 10-6 with Joey Harrington.

admin answers:

Bears- 13-3 But of course, Rex Grossman will be a full time bartender by then. :)

Jenny asks…

Who will have the NFL's best record?

I know it's only been 2 weeks and we have another 15 to go, but based on the teams' performances as of right now who do you think will hold the top 5 records at the end of the season?

Mine:
1.New Orleans Saints (14-2)
2.Baltimore Ravens (13-3)
3.Houston Texans (12-4)
3.Atlanta Falcons (12-4)
5.Dallas Cowboys (11-5)
5.Minnesota Vikings (11-5)

Will TOMMY NOBIS ever get into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame?

Every year I wonder if the veterans committee will vote him in and every year he doesn't make it in. Honestly, I don't even know if he is nominated anymore. I'm not NFL statistical buff or anything like that and Tommy Nobis is why before my time. I'm only 32, but when I see all his stats and awards, I am appalled at why he is not in the HOF. Does anyone have any insight???

ISN'T TOMMY NOBIS HOF WORTHY??
NFL Draft 1966 / Round 1/ Pick 1
Pro Bowls 5, Awards 1965 Outland Trophy, 1965 Maxwell Award, Honors NFL 1960s All-Decade Team, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame, Atlanta Falcons Retired his #60, NFL Records 294 tackles as a rookie

In 1965, Tommy Nobis became the first player ever drafted by the expansion Atlanta Falcons as well as the first linebacker to be chosen first overall when he was taken with the #1 pick in the 1966 NFL Draft on November 27, 1965. The Houston Oilers also drafted him in the AFL Draft.

Robert asks…

How does the NFL determine who wins their division in a tie?

I was wondering how does the NFL determined the winner in between ties. The New Orleans Saints have clinched their division evethough the Atlanta Falcons are 2 games behind and there are 2 games left in the season. I was looking at it as if the the Saints lost these last 2 games and the Falcons won these last 2 games it would be a tie. I assumed the NFL knows this but how could they tell say the Saints clinched the division. Is it determined by the Points For, the division record, the conference record, or what. I just want some insight on this matter.

admin answers:

First, it's head-to-head record.
Then it's division record.
Then it's conference record.

(:
